Well, after finally figuring out the right strap length or my guitar (namely, the longest possible, via trial and error in figuring out what annoys my right wrist the least combined with a dose if What Would Slash Do? in consulting old GNR photos and video footage) I noticed that the strap I’m using was threatening to slip off the strap pins as the hole wasn’t reinforced.
Time to go the Straplok route to prevent any casualties.
The guitar portion of the installation was straightforward enough.
Ditto most of the strap assembly.
The most annoying part is of course getting this little clip to snap into place around the groove in the strap pin.
Takes needle-nosed pliers and several minutes of fiddling but eventually the clips obey my will.
Anyway, done and ready for action.
