Well, it’s becoming kinda obvious that the day is coming when I’ll see my cover of Nickelback’s “Figured You Out” surpass my currently most-viewed YouTube clip, “Poison Their Well.”
Yup, today the Nickelback cover stands at 516 and counting plays and “Poison Their Well” is just barely holding onto the lead with 518.
Glad someone’s liking it, and it was a fun cover to do.
Still, kinda weird, since most bands do post covers expressly to game up their view counts whereas I post them more because I’m just having fun doing cover tunes once a month and figured I might as well share. Otherwise, if I was just trying to game the system I’d be covering huge hits like “Call Me Maybe”…. although there was a semi-serious discussion I had with a friend the other day that I should cover that song to see just how creepy I can make your standard empty-headed pop crush tune, but that’s beside the point.
