All the anxieties, faint memories from the wars of his parents’ generation, obsessions, insecurities of his own oddness… all test-driven in miniature.

The small world supercedes the real world and becomes more real.

All creation is like that, really – first an idea, then a prototype, then manifestation. And dolls in tableaus often have more live breathed into them by their maker’s fussing than you’d find in the average drone on the street.
